Design

The first step is an initial meeting to gather your business requirements and objectives for your new site. This can take place face-to-face, or by telephone interview – whichever fits your agenda best. At this meeting we will cover things like how many pages you require, whether you want animated buttons or flash movies, and whether the site will have any user interaction or e-commerce facilities. We will also establish budgets and timescale's. We can tailor a web presence to suit any budget - a simple site with a few key pages can be created in a few days for a couple of hundred pounds. A large database driven site with movies and lots of interactivity would take several weeks and cost up to ten times that.

Next the design itself will be discussed and you, the client, can have as much or as little input as you would like at this stage. To make the ‘feel’ of the site relative to your business is the objective here.
Soon afterwards you will receive a written summary of the agreed scope of the project together with a final quote for the price.

Build

On agreement, we will then create a skeleton navigation diagram and/or full working mock-up of the site with dummy graphics.

At the same time we will be gathering together all the web site content – written material and graphics. This is the time when any photography and image design (see below) will take place.

When you are happy with the layout of the dummy web site, we will set about dropping in the live content.

At this stage it is likely there will be some to-ing and fro-ing as we work together to tweak and optimise the site. As soon as everyone is happy, the site will undergo a period of intense functionality and performance testing at a hidden online location, before finally going live.

Photography and Image Design

An important part of the pre-build process is acquisition and optimisation of all the necessary photography and image content Some of this will use existing publicity materials, and some will need to be created specially – buttons, backgrounds etc.

We are also happy (if geographically possible!) to come out to the place of your business or activity and take high resolution digital images which can then be professionally optimised for inclusion in your site.
